CJ 7

26 Feb 08

Have you watched it? Well, I did! Caught it with Jazs on 23 Feb, 12 midnight at Leisure Park cinema.

This is our first time there. Small theater, simply cannot feel any bit of chill-ness in that cinema. But sound system is acceptable. When buying the tickets, I hardly see anyone else other then me, buying tickets. I (keep my fingers cross) that this cinema is gonna stay for long. One thing we chose to watch there, coz it is really near Jazs' house!

Well, moving back to the movie........

长江7号 aka CJ 7. I thought it is beautifully done up by Stephen Chow. We both felt that this is really a break-through for him. Very different from from his previous works. E.g. KungFu Hustle, ShaoLin Soccer.

Whole movie I can only find Stephen Chow and that fatty boss (who also starred in above mentioned films). The rest of the casts, I got no idea where they come from.

The lame P.E. teacher who pull his pants so high that it almost cover his nipples,

The Clean-freak hongkee teacher who really make me wanna f*** (coz the way he treats that poor boy,

*Wooo.. the Beautiful teacher who did not teach a single lesson in the show. *LoL!!

That hugh female classmate who have a voice of a cutie primary school girl. *Wahaha!!

Stephen's son (who actually is a girl in real person). Her/his reactions and acting are very impressive!! The way she hold her mouth, pointing to the cabinet and finally let out a sharp YELLLLLL!!!! The moment where he realize his Dad had died. She certainly handle those tough showing very well!! Imagine her age... Wow!!

Before watching this show, I have a few friends who told me that this show is below expectation, not that funny anymore. But after I caught this show, I reckon that. It is like a Ferrero Roche. Nice outlook. You unwrapped the golden wrapper, slowly bite off the nuts one by one. Lick the choco 'cover', when it is time, you 'hack' the crust into a creamy choco. Finally you are there, real big nut in there!

*Duhz... Do you understand what am I saying?

Err... Never mind then....

I feels this movie was done very 'internationally'. Jokes cracked were easily understand by audiences regardless of Euro, US or Chinese. Flow of story was cooked up smoothly. Props were done up so nice that you won't forget. E.g. Their 3 storeys house with a very small interior, the lovable CJ7!!...

Background of the movie was showing China, which I feel is a better way to showcast the movie to Ang mos... As ang mo watch more China films than HK ones *I guess!, added to that, China environment is much more easier for them to visualise the story. E.g. That silly farmer wearing the cap exactly like the UFO, saying that he saw flying saucer!! (you got what I mean?)

Another thing that contribute to why I think it is an International flick is this song!!! (Why don't he input a Chinese song?)

It is called 'Sunny' by singer name, "Boney M". Oldies song liao.

Very groovey song!!! Love that!! *Currently my ringtone!! WaHaha!! Like it when the boy dances with cutie CJ7, hitting the faulty radio 1/2way!

Emotion hit skyhigh when Stephen Chow died. From the day, they quarrelled about getting 60+ marks than Stephen will mind his own business, to Stephen Chow's death which was made that no one else could save him at that point of time. After he fall to his death, his son got 65 marks for test, but come to realize the fateful accident. The struggle in his heart when on his bed, crying,"Daddy will be back when I wake up tomorrow morning." His acting is so convincing that I nearly drop my tears. *woo...

I feel that only silly thing of the ending is that, that father and son still have not realise that who save Stephen Chow from death. Funny isn't it?

Anyway this movie is sure to very much worth the $9.50 I spent per ticket. And I certainly wanna watch it for a second time!!

Have you watch it??

Pls start creating something new!!

23 Feb 08

I recently fall in love with this song. Simply, absolutely awesome!!

The smooth drum beats, soothing piano plus voice of the vocalist that blends in so well! When starting listen to this song, I must admit that they do sounds like an Ireland band 'Keane'. But I just love this song now!! Very cool tune!

But fxxx! Some joker went change the lyrics to mandarin, that's certainly spoil this song!! And it is playing on radio everyday!! *%$#!!!

So now my friends, just in case you thought that Joker had such luck of having a nice song in his first album compose by that don't know who. Now I shall reveal the truth! *Daylight....

It is actually an Ang Mo song! Personally, I strongly dislike songs being re-compose into Mandarin ones. Why can't we Chinese compose songs with our very own lyrics and tone??

I urged all PLEASE!!! Hear from the original singer!! Support the original!!! Boycott the faker!!

*ok... Chillz.... > <

Alright, shall we take a look at this MV by a band call, "MeLee", song title, "Built to Last".

Meaninful lyrics!

"I've looked for love in stranger places,
But never found someone like you.
Someone whose smile makes me feel I've been holding back,
And now there's nothing I can't do.
'Cause this is real, and this is good.
It warms the inside just like it should,
But most of all,
most of all,
it's built to last.

All of our friends saw from the start.
So why didn't we believe it too?
Whoa yeah, now look where we are.
You're in my heart now.
And there's no escaping it for you."

Saw it? Love it? If so, pass the message around!! Ban that Daxxxx!! *Opps! Too obvious!!

P.S. Any kind soul got the MP3 file for this song?? HaHa!! Enjoy your weekend!!

KungFu 'Duck'

21 Feb 08

Just caught 功XX篮. Too lame for me to accept. *Probably I'm lamer than that.

Too little scenes for me to laugh at. *I just can't explain why.

Too similar to movies like "ScXXry Movie" series.

Luckily I did not watch it at cinema. *Guess where!? HaHa!!

But got a bit 'feeling' for it during the last part. When Eric Tsang handed Jay over to Richard (real Daddy).

The basketball skills were... Fluke!

It is like watching an Uni student edition of the infamous "Shaolin Soccer". *I can accept Stephen Chow's style, but not this director's. Since the 2 young monks (Si Xiao Long & Hao Shao Wen) were used as his main casts, I got absolutely turn off. I feel it is a pity that 'Wu Men Ta' was not found in CJ7. *sigh...

If you have watch it, What do you think of this 'Kungfoooo Duck'??? *I don't think you share the same feeling as me.

Last weekend of CNY

16 Feb 08

Well, I'm home now, with baby Jazs studying... Been thinking of watching 'CJ7' but haven got the spare time for it. *Anyone watch it already?

Lately my weekend nights, upon reaching home. I will on tv, tune to teletext Chan 8 pg 882 for 4D....

Don't call me 'Ah pek'.

Well, you never know when is your turn!! Anyway when in the long long queue just now, saw a poster that wrote something like this: "Winning to knowing when to stop." But as I read this, I turn my back around looking at the 30+ people behind me. I pondered, *Who actually stop by and read this poster.

Less than a quarter.... For me, I'm just betting with some extra cash. Hoping some surprise and to further top up my bank account. I really hope it is tonight!!

Going to the estate nearly mess things up.

Usually hot and loss feeling of chill air in office, were worsen by my black shirt.

Argh... I think I'm the only one who dress to the event of the day. Kinda freaky...

Well, 14th Feb 08, was yet another time I brought blue roses for Jazs. The first time was...

Err...

Only remember I brought it a Jurong Point with 2 of my poly-mates.

Who are they...

Better think it is he or her, just in case I say the wrong kind soul.

Anyway, dinner was steamboat. Because places like Sizzler, Fishy Co, NYDC were spotted with human-formed dragon at the door step.

So what about you, my dear friends? Hope you guys all have fun.

4 Feb 08

Every year during this 'almost CNY' period, this song is always on my mind. I first heard it over FM93.3 while waiting for lunch in camp during ARMY days. Super funny, wonder why Andy Lau sang this song. Anyone saw the MTV? Anyway delicate this song to my friends out there!

恭喜发财

It's CNY!! I'm very prepared indeed!!

2nd Feb 08

End of the week.. Phew.. Really tired over work this few days. But I still squeezed out some time to shop around!
After Monday trip to Chinatown, Tuesday is my final hunt for CNY signage. I was at Rocher Road with Jazs, and brought this!
Nice flowerly rats! Cost me $2.80, you cannot find it anywhere else! Only here! I pasted it on the West side of my bedroom. Feeling that waking up every morning, it is sure to ensure you reach your home or work place safely!! *HaHa!!

On Wednesday, I brought another one. Stick it up on my bedroom door. May I attracts lots lucks and fortune in the Rat Year!
This costs me $1.00!! Very cheap! I think only this shop near my house have this price, other stalls are selling at $3!

Thursday was my Off day. Woke up at early noon, went for a $17 haircut before meeting Jazs for late lunch. Fully prepared, as I am in shorts, polo tee, slippers (What's new?!), water bottle, backpack away for some sightseeing!

First stop :
I passed these very old, weeds-filled terrace houses which is very near to Mustafa Shopping Centre.
Then I finally reached my destination.
Probably let you guys know something. I am actually reading up into 'FengShui' recently. In fact I am quite interested in this 'subject' since I read up those CNY fortune guide book selling annually, when I was in Sec 2. *Mmm.. Just that I did not find a starting point for that. It is only till now I have 2 colleagues who is very much into this, they recommend books by author name "Lillian TOO". So I have been reading up her books since then.

Back to the site, this is one street (recommended by my colleagues) that 'suprisinly' houses lots shops selling 'FengShui' item! I did some read up at home, planned what I am gonna buy before coming over. Thinking back past few years which wasn't going real well for my family, I brought a pair of 9 eyes Dzi beads with white beads (which represent Health) for my Mum and sister. Myself, brought 3 copper coins tied by red string, place in my wallet for income secure. Added to that, I brought a dragon turtle (ensure health and wealth for family) and 3 legged toad (booast money luck) to put at my home. Wondering how good will it do for us. *Mmm.. Looking around tha shop, there tons of other stuffs to energise your house or workplace!
If you need further information, you may look up here:
http://www.lillian-too.com/

Okies, done with this, I walked over toward Bugis. As I passed by this land infected by pigeons!! I had urge to call up my pest controller!

And I reached here, a part of Jalan Besar. Quite rundown.
So I come to my 2nd part of hike. Sungei Road!
I remember whenever I take bus to Sim Lim Tower, I will surely pass by this stretch of road. But I never have the chance to alight to walk along these streets.
Some of you may have seen this place, it is actually a place where those Ah Peks and Ah Mmm display their 'ancient' stuffs here to sell.It is 4pm when I was there, stunned to see so many people shopping there! Look at the things they sell! I really seem like those stuffs that we will dump when doing our annual Spring Cleaning!
Used shoes, those Duracell rabbits dolls, used hi-fi, watches and many more! Wonder if I could bring some of my stuffs over to sell! *LoL!! I see this as part of the cult of SG, imagine the Hippo Tour pass by this area too! Sad to see there are some fellas selling XXX discs openly, certainly spoil the image of this street!

Alright, seen enough of this, I carry on strolled towards Bugis. Saw this place which I have never come before too. This is the place where you see lots of Malaysia buses and cabbies. For me, someone who never put a step on Malaysia, surely will not come this place at all.

Up next was over to warehouses opposite Raffles Hospital. Those canned scallops, 'Bao yu', dried stuffs were selling at relatively cheap price! I find it is a good place to shop for CNY foods.

MMmm.. End of my excusion. Hopefully my next outing in Feb 08 will visit another part of SG. Any suggestion? *Ha! Anyway, do enjoy the CNY ahead!!
